Our equipment designs are functional and easy to manufacture. We leverage our client’s existing maintenance inventories for components in the design process to reduce maintenance and procurement costs for projects wherever possible.
Rapid Protoyping
Using the solid model of the part we can 3D print a full-scale working prototype of your part in as little as a few hours, ready for functional testing in a variety of materials including, but not limited to the following:
Stainless Steel, Carbon Fibre, Nylon, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, Flexible Material, High Temperature Carbon Fibre
This allows you to quickly test prototypes and rapidly make changes to your design to bring your ideas into reality.
Process Interlocking
Using a trapped key system we can protect your equipment from damage, as well as keeping your employees safe by ensuring they are always following the safe procedure. We can mechanically interlock numerous processes and procedures from simply opening a door, to something as complex as integrating with PLC control systems. The system has proven itself in some of the harshest environments, from Canada’s freezing cold to underground mines.
Manufacturing Jigs & Fixtures
From simple 3D printed assembly jigs to full size rotational welding jigs, we have worked with manufacturing facilities with low product variation high volume, to high product variation and low volume. We can design the jigs to suit your situation and available equipment to increase your production efficiency.
Augmented Reality
You can be virtually transported into the middle of your 3D modeled concepts or designs. We can place 3D models inside the process on the production floor in full scale so you have a firsthand look at any potential issues. This technology will allow you to interact with the model to see how it will fit within the current process and how the new equipment will function within the workflow.
Risk Assessments & Guarding Design
We have certified B11 Licensed Machinery Safety Specialists on staff who can guide you through your risk assessment and provide valuable feedback and solutions to your risks. Using decades of knowledge and experience designing guards & safety systems, we can provide a written report detailing the risk issues and possible solutions - ensuring they meet the current safety specifications to keep you and your employees safe.

Reality Capture - 3D Laser Scanning
We can capture a 3D image of your equipment and buildings very quickly and efficiently with our laser scanner. Using the point cloud scan within our CAD software, we can create informed designs, check interference issues, validate as-build data with construction documents, verify retrofits and changes to buildings and processes over time. Reverse Engineering Scanning
At Precision Design, we offer high-accuracy reverse engineering scanning using our advanced white light handheld scanner, achieving precision up to 0.050mm.
